چکیده

Methods: OPs were recorded from a comeal lens, after Ganzfeld stimulation. The analog recording bandwidth was set to IO@1Khz. OPs were acquired following three difrerent protocols: 1) immediately after an abmot change in background illumination, 2) followina various time of preahaptation and 3) duhng the adaptation period. Purpose: The Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) crossed asymmetry revealed in patients with various forms of albinism is believed to be pathognomonic of this co#ition. We report on patients with the incomplete form of Stationary Night Blindness (iCSNB) in whom, beside a set of very characteristic electroretinogmms (electronegative bright-flash and photopic responses, cone oscillatory potential

Investigating the frequency characteristics of the electroretinogram signal in patients with central retinal vein occlusion

Background: Central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) is the second most common retinal vascular disorder after diabetic retinopathy. In this study, we tried to examine the potentials of time-frequency methods for differentiating the eyes with CRVO. Materials and methods: Twenty patients with unilateral CRVO were included in this study. Their contralateral normal eyes were considered as the control...

Cell based therapies in retinal diseases

Background Degenerative retinal diseases, including age related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and hereditary retinal dystrophies are major causes of blindness. The principal defect in these diseases is cell loss which is amenable to both cell based neuroprotective and neuroregenerative therapies. To briefly review the lines of research and potential candidates for cell based therapies among ...

A Chronic Implant to Record Electroretinogram, Visual Evoked Potentials and Oscillatory Potentials in Awake, Freely Moving Rats for Pharmacological Studies

Electroretinogram (ERG), widely used to study the pharmacological effects of drugs in animal models (e.g., diabetic retinopathy), is usually recorded in anesthetized rats. We report here a novel simple method to obtain chronic implantation of electrodes for simultaneous recording at the retinal and cortical levels in freely moving, unanesthetized animals. We recorded cortical (VEPs) and retinal...

Oscillatory Potentials in Diabetic Retina without Retinopathy

Purpose: To study recordings of oscillatory potentials (OPs) of the electroretinogram (ERG) in diabetic eyes that have no visible fundus alterations, to ascertain whether changes in sensitivity are evident when compared with recordings from age-matched controls. Methods: OPs of the ERG were measured from 68 eyes of 34 patients with diabetes without retinopathy and from 30 eyes of 15 normal subj...

Evaluation of inner retinal function in myopia using oscillatory potentials of the multifocal electroretinogram

PURPOSE Oscillatory potentials have been suggested to arise from the inner retina at the level of amacrine cells and inner plexiform layer and they are thought to provide a non-invasive assessment of inner retinal function. We sought to investigate the response dynamics of the inner retina of adult emmetropes and myopes by analysing the oscillatory potentials of the multifocal electroretinogram...
